I found out there's an anonymous girl who uses the same pseudonym like mine: 'Air Sunyi'. If it sounds so foreign and strange, especially if this is the first time you read it and wondering what it means; literally it's translated as
'Silent Water' in Indonesian. I chose this name as my pseudonym (simply known as pen name, or in a more modern term -- screen name?), and I've been using it for three years. I've registered it in most of my social media pages, and I also put it in most of my art works.
I thought when I'm back in art and get active creating new works again (my holiday just started, by the way) people will recognise my works with my pseudonym.
But I was wrong.
Last week, I found out that apparently there's another Indonesian (because the name is obviously in Indonesian), who used EXACTLY the same pen name like mine. She's a poet, and all of her poetry are signed with that name. I thought, wow -- this can create confusion. Sometimes I'm still write too, and I think in the future I'm going to publish my writing...
I'm already sending a message about the similarity in our pseudonym via her Tumblr, and didn't hide my Tumblr name too, hinting her that someone else (which is me) also using the name, and the fact that I'm already using that name WAY LONGER than her. She was online after I send her my message, because she updated her Tumblr, but she ignores me.
THIS IS JUST SO ANNOYING AND FRUSTRATING. *sighs* I don't know what to about this yet.
But I can't hang this longer. Having someone else using exactly the same pseudonym like me really threatens my consistency in creating art. Maybe I should just start to edit all my works and fix my watermark. Also I don't have the PSD files of most of my photography works, so the watermark signed are permanent... imagine, I have to fix them ONE BY ONE. See, how frustrating this can be.
Well. I'm starting to think about a new pseudonym anyway, in case nothing else I can do to maintain the name as mine, anymore. Please, don't ask why I don't use my real name instead. I have a personal reason for that. And hopefully, when I'm done editing the watermark in my old works I can go back creating a new one. With my new pseudonym, definitely.
p.s Most parts of this journal entry is copied from my blog, there are screenshots of her pages that use the same pseudonym like me... You can see it here. merahtoska.blogspot.com/2013/0…
